Meghan and Alli visited with Justin aka “the Potato” Shaffer at Hot Potato, a new real-time startup dubbed “the next Twitter” by Business Insider.
Hot Potato is way for people to connect about real events in real time as they are going on. Their goal is to connect attendees with people watching or following along at home.
They are mainly focused on building a smart technology that uses your social graph, context, location data to filter your stream. To “filter” content, they use a simple curation system based on comments and likes. The goal is to make you feel like you are part of a larger audience and give you as much perspective as possible.
It lets you:
- Check in and record presence, broad it to friends
- Post photos and notes
